    Trip To Dehradun, Uttarakhand

    Trip to Dehradun, FRI
At Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun
I believe that you take a vacation only when you are bored with the continuous, monotonous work which you have been doing for a long time. This situation is not frequent with me, but it is definitely periodic.

The Trip to Dehradun and Haridwar in Uttarakhand, India on 23rd November'13 and 24th November 2013 was definitely on the calender with regular, humdrum work. I forayed into booking train tickets for an outing to dehradun, a popular tourist destination in the state of Uttarakhand, India.

    River Rafting Fun at Rishikesh

On 18th May 2013, I started my first official trip to Rishikesh with colleagues with return on Monday 20th May 2013. Exhilaration and imaginative thrill of river rafting at Rishikesh was high on my mind, as I reached office on Saturday 2200 Hrs to board the A/C bus. On reaching office, I caught up with my 9 colleagues of the content team. While Varun Verma and Gaurav Roy were busy with their favorite alcohol drinks, Leena, Ranjeeta, Sachin Singh, Shrikanth, Rohit Thapa, Krishnendu Chaterjee and Ajit were all roaming here and there or resting (at least trying to). There were 2 buses scheduled to leave office by 2330 Hrs. or 0000 Hrs. but the time made us wait more. Finally the buses arrived and all the 90 members settled in the two buses. The journey to the challenging recreational activity - river rafting in Rishikesh began at around 0130 Hrs. in the morning. During the travel, we watched Bollywood Movie Jolly LLB and I managed to catch a nap for 30 odd minutes. This small nap refreshed me enough to proceed ahead with the trip, without any headache. With regular stops for license checking, toll payment etc., we managed to reach Phoolchatti Resort at 1130 Hrs on 19th May 2013.

    Trip to Dharamshala (McLeod Ganj)

The sleeping dead rose with thunder and attacked the undead. I witnessed this scene not in any movie but in real life, while en-route to Dharamshala (McLeod Ganj). This was going to be my first trip with colleagues, so the excitement was natural. The said scene was quite a shock for me initially but given some time, I rather found it humorous and enjoyable. For those who are still confused about the scene, I will disclose just the part that the scene was in between two drinkers. Nevertheless, the en-route journey to Dharamshala's suburb situated on the Dhauladhar Range was quite entertaining, although long. We started the 500+ km journey at about 1800 Hrs on 25th January 2013. With next day being official day off, it gave us the chance to plan something like this. A total of 7 people along with the driver got comforted in Innova and began the Trip to Dharamshala (McLeod Ganj), which turned out to be tiring yet entertaining.
